September Bead Journal Project (BJP) 2012

I'm switching things out on you this month.  I was afraid I wouldn't have enough ivory beads, so I switched to black.  This design is fairly simple with the rows of beads and added embroidery floss loops.  It was actually a nice change working a different color this month.

As I stitched, this design I reflected on how we all start out alone in this world.  Our paths cross and we may develop wonderful friendships, spending time together, sharing experiences and enjoying our common interests.  Gradually, as our family grows we seem to separate from our friends, busy following our own paths simultaneously and often get so busy we lose touch, maybe briefly running into each other somewhere along the way, meeting new friends and having new experiences.  As we get older our lives begin to settle down a bit.  Our kids are grown and have their own friendships.  We have more time to think and to reflect, to re-evaluate what is important, we make a point to reunite with old friends from our past, renewing old friendships.  Eventually, however, we each again go our separate way as we are no longer able to travel, our needs change or maybe have failing health until one day we move on to our next life with those nearest to us at our side, sadly saying goodbye.

On a lighter note, I ended up purchasing more space from Blogger since I've used up the free allotment of space.  For those interested, with a new pricing system it actually costs nearly $2.50 per month indefinitely (until it runs out) for the added space.  It seems it should be a flat rate for a predetermined amount of memory. I am just a logical person and some of these things drive me crazy when they don't make sense.  It is out of my hands now, so I'll quit thinking about it and won't blabber on about it anymore ~ lol.  *wink* You are welcome!

I enjoyed reading your comments about the route our life takes, so true I have lost too many friends allthough only 65 and feel very alone these days.
My stitching keeps me sane!! not sure if that is true, have I ever been really sane.
Did not realise blogging could start costing me money, is it just what you blog that takesnthe space or everyone you follow`s blogs as well?

You have to BUY space from Blogger? I have a blog but they haven't ever charged me for anything. How does that work??

When you start a blog you receive 5 GB of Drive, 10.01 GB of Gmail and 1 GB of Picasa for free. When you load a photo onto your blog it goes into a Picasa album. I didn't realize any of this either until recently. To upgrade you have at least three options: 25 GB for Drive and Picasa at $2.49/month; 100 GB for Drive and Picasa at $4.99/month; or you can upgrade to 16 TB and I'm not certain of the cost for the latter upgrade. There may be more options as well for higher upgrades. I believe I went about 3 years with two blogs on my free space. I hope this answers your questions.

I still find it hard to believe that these lovely bits of 'lace' are actually made from beads!

A deceptively simple piece which expresses deep feeling. It's a natural progression through life, but it can be hard to accept the changes and, especially, the losses.

Interesting info about blogging too, thanks.
