CQJP 2019 - February Block

Finally completed my February block for CQJP 2019.  I knew it was going to take longer because I wanted it to have tons of sparkle to reflect the frivolous time period.  The fringe and fabric details are all done individually by hand.  I've used lots of beads, sequins and metallic threads and fabrics.  The seam along the lower left is a furry yarn trim with a rhinestone strip in the middle.

The photo just below helps really show the sparkle.

Tons of sparkle on this one!
Below is the (almost) naked block.  I am having a little trouble getting my images to print out onto the fabric as bright as the actual painting.  I ended up adding a little metallic detailing to this figure so the rest of the block's sparkle didn't overwhelm it quite as much.

Details about this decade referred to as the Roaring Twenties are on the previous post.  Hope you like it!

Thank you Shirlee! Hard on the eyes but the sparkly effect is worth it.

oh yes, I like it - most definitely! Magpies like sparkle you know!! I really like the colors too - and that pretty furry yarn trim.

I have heard there is an attraction Magpies have to sparkle. I am working on the 30s gal now. I am finding it so interesting to see how styles evolve from one decade to the next. Quite eye opening.
