More of Grandma's Embroidery

A few months ago I shared photos of some of the beautiful aprons my grandmother had embroidered.
I was just given a couple sets of pillow cases she had done as well.
I had to choose from about 10 pair and it was not an easy choice!

I knew she did beautiful work, but did not fully appreciate her skills until I recently began my journey in embroidery.  The stitching is so tiny and precise.  She also crocheted the edges.  We both shared a love of lavender color so I decided to pick that one.  I also love roses, so maybe the choice wasn't so tough.  She had also embroidered so really elaborate tablecloths.  I would love to be able to sit with her now and embroider and learn more about her.  The bottom two photos are back views of her work.

Do you have some special pieces that have been passed down to you?  I hope you enjoy them as much as I cherish these.

Your grandmother's embroidery and crochet work is so very beautiful. How lovely that you have received the pillowcases now at a time when you can truly appreciate the work involved. Have a great week. Tammy

These are special treasures - lucky you! I have to say that I like the purple one - the crocheted edging is lovely.

Now I know where you get your creative talent! These are simply beautiful! How nice that you have inherited them!

I don't have a green thumb like my grandfather did, but I do love to garden! Coincidence?

XO,
Jane
