It is very difficult to photograph my fireplace because of the lack of natural lighting and reflections in the mirror, but I gave it my best shot. My son designed and built the fireplace surround for us out of solid cherrywood. He did all the wood turnings himself...his first ever! The turnings above were also made by him and he hollowed them out and added wiring and small uplights as shown here.
There are lots of photos that follow...
I collect oil lamps and this mantle is the perfect place to display them.
He added outlets on either side on the mantle so I can plug in other lighted pieces, but as you can see one of my cords dropped to the side. It normally isn't visible.
Hope you are all enjoying some beautiful fallish weather!
I'm linking up with Funky Junk Interiors. Go HERE to see even more mantels and maybe even link up your own!

Your mantel looks so pretty. I can just imagine being able to curl up in front of your fire with and being able to gaze at the pretties you have on display. My idea of heaven!
Wow what a beautiful fireplace with all of your oil lamps. It is very "fall"

I'm glad you're not in a 'slump' this year!
Love the fireplace, clever, talented Son!
And of course the Fall display is gorgeous!
I particularly like the greenish fabric 'pumpkin', did you make that yourself?
Thanks for sharing,
Hugs,
Sandie xx
Thanks for stopping by today Connie, your fire place is to die for. That son of your has talent. He should go into the business. Guess he takes after his mom with all that talent. You have decorated it so beautifully.
Hugs, Pat
That mantel is GEORGEOUS! What a talented son you have.
And your photos are so pretty. It's always so nice to decorate with autumn colors...they are warm and fuzzy, aren't they? And your arrangements are so striking, Connie. I like the oil lamps that you used, too.
Now, if autumn would last for a month or so more....a couple more bike rides and hikes before the wind/snow/cold arrive!
Hugs
Jan
I love your mantle, and your decorations! You have a very talented son! He does beautiful work. I've often dreamed of having a fireplace mantle to decorate for all seasons and holidays.( the closest I got was a wood-burning stove!) At least now I can enjoy yours.
ohhhh swoon ... such a gorgeous mantel. I could look at it for hours!
hugs Lynn
