Found Objects Necklace

Here is my latest 'found objects' recycled creation. I've used beads from old jewelry and some new beads, gold wire that I shaped and hammered, and some rusty items I've picked up here and there. There are a few washers, the largest being the focal piece. I've sealed the rust so it will not cause damage to clothing. The amber colored glass beads add some sparkle and the copper gives it some variation and depth.

This is the first time I have shaped wire and then hammered it flat. I think the effect works nicely with the rusty elements. It is actually kind of hard to find objects with a really nice, rich texture and color, believe it or not. When I got off my bicycle the other day there was an awesome shaped piece right by my foot. I have sealed it and I'm anxious to make another piece of jewelry with it.
