You may think these look like the ones I submitted in January, but if you look closely you will see variations in the piecing and the stitches. I am really enjoying working on these 3 1/2" (approximately) blocks. I have already learned a lot about piecing and been able to experiment a lot with stitch variations.
Also, because the blocks are each so small I am able to take them with me. They fit into a little sandwich bag along with a needle, floss and small scissors. I am using the same floss on all my blocks right now, single strand. It doesn't get much easier than that to have what I need with me.
I hope you all don't get too bored with the repetition. After I have pieced the first six months blocks into a mini quilt, I will go back over it and add embroidered flowers, birds, initials, dates and other symbols often found on antique crazy quilts.

I love this look....reminds me of the first crazy quilt, I saw and fell in love with!

I really like the rich tones of the fabrics. Using the same thread for the seam treatments unifies the blocks, and it all has a very Victorian feeling to it.
I don't get bored. It is an interesting process. Blocks in a beautiful palette, basic seam embroidery with only one color, very practical.
Enjoy your weekend!
