More Beading

When I was in Colorado this past summer I bought some Tila beads and some coordinating size 11 seed beeds.  The Tilas are a flat bead sort of like a small tile.  Each Tila has two parallel holes.  Recently I did a little research to find a pattern that called for the use of Tila beads.

I found this pattern by Jennifer VanBenschoten with very clear and easy to follow instructions.  I really liked the bracelet itself also.  I ordered the sliding clasp from Fire Mountain Gems, my go to catalog.

At our Christmas party last week we had a white elephant gift exchange and I ended up with a glass slipper filled with a beverage mix.  I thought it would be perfect for a display and it worked great for this particular bracelet.

These are some woven bags I made a few years ago.  The top center one was my first ever beaded bag and the one that got me hooked on bead weaving.  It is doll size - about 2" square without the fringe and handle.  The bottom two are my own designs.  The bottom left has rings turning it into a drawstring bag.  The bottom right is beaded netting over a foundation of green velvet which I stitched and added to the antique neck and chain.  The neck of this bag expands so that it will open wide.  When closed together as shown, the 'cap' fits over top and keeps it closed.

No new beading projects planned currently, but I'm sure it won't be long before I am playing with beads again.  I have opened a Etsy shop and hope you will visit to see some of the other jewelry I have created this year.  I have lots more at home but have been having some computer problems keepiing me from adding them to the shop.  I have my main computer at the repair shop and can hopefully add more listings when I get it back.

Those beads look very intriguing - and make into a beautiful bracelet too. Lucky you to be the caretaker of a glass slipper - perfect prop for photos!
