I've revised my Tea themed block for my small quilt. There was a bit of a disconnect with the leaves on my first version but the more I thought about how to fix it the more confusing and frustrating it became. Thanks to the wonderful feedback from some very talented ladies I got my mojo back and made a few changes. Taking each of their ideas into consideration I came up with the following...
I'm not sure how much of the outer edge will show once I determine the size I will use for these blocks (which are currently about 6"-6 1/2" square) so I have kept things fairly centered. Once the blocks are sewn together I may add some button clusters within some of the blocks, some family names, dates, build up some of the seams within each block, etc. and maybe meandering vines along the seams between the blocks. I'll decide once I see it together.
I would love to hear your thoughts now that you have seen the revisions?

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!! When I saw it I said "WOW"! It looks great, you added all the perfect things! I love the vase it's just right and the baby's breath and bead flowers are gorgeous and I love the stem by the teapot too it brings a bit of the bouquet over to the other side of the block! It's perfect!
BTW When I saw the block before I loved the hanky/napkin with the cup too it's a beautiful idea and a great touch, gives it a more realistic feel!
It looks perfect, Connie. Nicely balanced, with the beaded flowers on both the right and left, and I like the little vase too!
Isn't it great when it all comes together?
Wonderfully done! Now it looks balanced, and my eye goes to the whole setting, not just to the leaves. Beautiful!!
yes Connie, you have managed to get a wonderful effect now, it all looks so very well balanced.
The addition of the vase is perfect. An absolutely delightful composition. Happy Thanksgiving Connie.
Yes, you did it!
Great idea to appliqué a vase the same fabric as the one on the left.
Perfect bouquet!
BRAVO!
Beautiful! I love how you put little flowers in the leaves. They look like they belong there........Cheryl in San Diego
This is pure bliss. The little beads add just the right touch without taking away from your ribbon roses. Beautifully done dear...
I gasped out loud when I saw this picture... It's absolutely the perfect solution to the leaves! Bravo!!!!
Absolutely stunning - an inspired solution, for sure.
Oh my! It turned out beautifully!! As if there was ever any doubt, LOL!! Hugs, Cathy
