I'm making progress on my second block for CQJP 2012. The first block included a painting of the home built for my husband's grandparents to live in when they were married. This block is a companion to the 1st block and contains photos of families that have lived in the home over the years beginning with my husband's grandparent's wedding photo. The florals are inspired by his grandmother's bridal bouquet which appears to be wild flowers loosely gathered. The monthly birthstone is opal or pink tourmaline, so I have embroidered some pink and some lavender flowers. A skeleton key will be added yet and some more needs to be done with the bouquet coming into the block.
I have also done the basic, or base, seam stitches on my third block. The color looks a little washed out in the photo below, but I think you can still see the stitching OK.

Connie,
Your work is amazing!!
I wish I could sew like this but my eye's are not good for that type of work any longer.
So I will sit back and enjoy your beautiful creations!!
thank you for your sweet comment and for entering my little giveaway! Good luck!

Hi Connie, just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

I really like the theme you have going on with your blocks - this one is especially fun to look at.
Love the branches with flowers!
Connie, i like how the branches seem to point to each photo and lead the eye around the block. It's looking very nice, and I like the stitching on your next block, too.
I love the way you've incorporated the photos. Really beautiful block.
