Birthday Party Update and Western Belt Buckles

Had the twin's birthday party this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and I am finally beginning to recuperate~lol. They played lots of games with their favorite being the Limbo! The rules have changed a bit since I was in school. The played freeze dance, musical chairs, got their nails polished, designed toilet tissue dresses on the birthday girls and had their faces painted. Oh yes, they ate ice cream and big giant birthday cookies. What fun!

The weather is finally warming up here and I must be getting spring fever because I have been busily cleaning. I ran across these belt buckles that had belonged to my dad. Aren't they the best. He collected belt buckles. Mom gave these to me along with some that really represented who he was. He was a cowboy in the truest sense of the word. He was also very patriotic having served our country in WWII.

I will share his other buckles some day, including one made from a brass bucket. He was such a talented man that could do about anything. He had passed away in November of 2008.

Connie, you have a lot to be proud of in your Dad. Whenever I meet a WWII vet, I always shake his or her hand and say thank you. I'm sorry you have lost him. My Dad died in WWII....so I know what you feel about the pride you have and the love...
Blessings, Diane

What great buckles! It would be fun to be able to mount them (perhaps on a bell pull?) so you could have them on display.
