Snowflakes!

I did a post some of you may remember not too long ago where I shared my drama whereas everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Well, I think my luck is finally turning around a bit. I got a job, found my glasses after the snow melted, and found my velcro dots that had gotten misplaced when I organized my studio. (It is dangerous to put things where you will be sure to find them~lol!)

Besides that, I won this gorgeous bead snowflake from Marie. It is so lacey and sweet and, best of all, sparkles in the sun. I just love it! She makes such beautiful and delicate jewelry. Here is a link to her blog so you can see for yourself. Be sure to visit her ArtFire shop (through the link on her blog)! Thank you so much Marie. I will think of your generosity whenever I see it.

Real snowflakes are in the forecast here for tomorrow and the rest of the week. I don't think it will be nearly as bad as our friends in Minnesota and some of the other states in its path to the north have had to endure. I did actually see a few Robins nearby a couple of days ago and to me, that is a sure sign spring is on its way! I can tell the weather is going to change from my headache.

I have been sewing a couple of American Girl doll clothing pieces for my twin granddaughter's 6th birthday next week and will share photos when the clothes are completed. I am nervous about the hooded jacket fitting since I couldn't find any pre-quilted fabric and had to add batting for fullness to the coat. It is turning out adorable anyway. It may just have to hang in her closet until AGD shrinks. The little dress and jacket are sweet and I am especially enjoying the 'accessorizing'. I think the girls will be excited to get them. I let them choose the pieces they wanted and they chose fabric from my stash, but otherwise haven't seen anything yet.

It's been a great week!

I LOVE your snowflake. It is so special and ALWAYS one of my favorite decorating thingys in the winter! Your Granddaughters are SO LUCKY, and you will provide them with lifelong memories. I remember my Mom surprising me with outfits for my Tammy Doll, and it left PRICELESS excitment and memories for me... Your are a Great Gramma!
Hugs to you,
Donna

Yeah, on finding your glasses and getting a new job and receiving the beautiful snowflake!

My aunt used to make clothes for my Chatty Cathy. I still have my Chatty Cathy and a couple of the dresses my aunt made for her. Treasures I hold close to my heart.

Connie,
I am back and so happy to see you found your glasses! Congratulations on the job. The snowflake is lovely and I can just see you working snowflakes into a future CQ project. I made AG clothes for my daughters dolls. I am really not sure who enjoyed the dolls the most, the girls or me. I have Barbie clothes that an aunt made for me 47 years ago!
Thank you for the sweet heart you sent to me in the mail, during my DH's illness. I kept it in my pocket as a reminder for all those blogland friends praying for us. Thank you for your friendship.

Hi Connie ... I'm glad you are so happy with your wee prize & that things seem to be looking up ... finding your glasses is always a good thing (I always have issues with losing pens) & will be fun to see the the doll clothes. I did some Barbie-type stuff years back when my DD was into that ... knitted & crocheted outfits ... it was fun. Wish I had pics ... but darn ... I don't. they were so cool & so much fun to make. Think I still have patterns ... hmmm ... could be a whole new line ... designer doll clothes! (Like I dont't have enough on the go already!)

Hugs ... Marie

Hi Connie,
I'm so glad you found your glasses! (I didn't know you lost them.) But, you must be relieved...and just like you, when I organize, I can't find a thing!!!
What a beautiful snowflake--this is a treasure, indeed.
Have a happy weekend!!!
