A Quote, A Gift, and Another CQ Project

My friend sent me this great Will Rogers quote the other day. I really enjoyed it so I thought I would share it with you. "I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top".

I just have to say right off that I cannot believe the thoughtfulness of people! I just finished putting up my Christmas tree yesterday when the mail carrier knocked on the door with a parcel for me. Totally unexpected - often the best kind! I quickly opened the package to find these beautiful fabric scraps and a packet of tiny beads. Mary Anne sent them to me with a nice note which read "Some stash enhancement to your stash from mine". She is a crazy quilter I really admire and just a creative and generous person all around. This is her link:

I have been working on a new CQ project. I transferred one of my paintings onto fabric to use as the focal piece. First I converted the painting into monochromatic blue on a white background. It is an image of the home my great grandfather from England built, the home my grandparents lived in their entire lives, the home my mother grew up in and a home I have always loved, full of lots of memories. This project is certainly a labor of love.
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Ohhhh, how FUN that you got a delish box of goodies from Mary Anne. LOVE what she sent ~ there are lots of pretty blues there!

AND your newest CQ project with the photo of your grandparents home is absolutely georgeous. What a special memory you have...now quilted with love by you! A labor of love indeed!

I hope you have a great holiday, too. We're thinking about snowshoeing in Ouray. Weather depending. I hate to drive in blizzards, so it'd have to be a really sunny weekend for me to go. Wimp........:)
