Handmade Paper Flower Book

I thought I would share another of my handmade paper projects. As some of you know, I took a paper making class and absolutely loved it. Although I have the supplies and (of course) books to do more, I somehow got sidetracked. Here is a sort of book I created. I was also drying flowers at the time, so you will see a lot of that incorporated into this project.

The cover opens up to reveal my 'flower' book.

The pages either fan out or open up as shown below to form a flower.

The pages have dried or pressed flowers from my garden as the next few images show.

Sorry some of the images are a bit blurry. I keep thinking I need to do more with this...any suggestions? I have witnessed how creative you all are and would really love to get your input. I may have to take another class to get me back to creating more handmade paper. It doesn't seem as popular as it once was, but people still seem to like the paper itself - maybe just not the process of making it.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Connie

Your book is lovely and so unique in the way it opens into a flower. I've never tried making my own paper but certainly enjoy working with it.

How pretty, I have always wanted to make paper. I like the shape of them and the way they open up. They could be a window banner draped on top of a lace curtian so the light shown through. I know you will come up with something lovely when the time is right.

Hi, Connie - you commented on my blog a few weeks ago and I just finally made it to yours. Quite lovely, must make it one of my favorites. Absolutely adorn your pressed flower booklet. Flowers, booklet, a bit of thread - what's not to love. Thanks for the inspiration.
