Somehow I got away from drawing and painting this past year. I'm not sure how that happens other than I don't seem to have enough hours in the day. I'm sure many of you can relate.
I've decided to make time now and then to at least draw. These are my first two of many yet to come, I hope. A watercolor workshop group I belong to on Yahoo posts an image every month for artists to paint using watercolors. I haven't taken part in the monthly painting challenge since I have only been a member for a short time, but just going through the site inspires me to paint. It is fun to see how each artist interprets the same image differently. I think it will be fun to play and try different styles and techniques and loosen up a bit from my realistic style. The baby shoes below are drawn using their December challenge image. I think it will be fun to try painting them next.

Maybe I'll add that to my list of challenges (CQJP 2012, TAST, BJP 2012) which I shared a couple of posts previous to this for the coming year. Are any of you in the Watercolor Workshop Yahoo group?
