Auction Treasures!

$30.00 plus some change! Normally things like this go so high at auctions, but for some reason people weren't bidding. I was able to bring home some real treasures from the sale. This is a photo of most of it. I also bought a nice antique mirror and a WWII photo of a general and some of his men.

The previous owner of all these beautiful items had operated an antique business, so prices were still marked on items so I know I was doing well. I won the bid for beaded purses at $2.50 each and chose 8 of them to bring home with me. Close-ups follow below.

The little black key chain coin purse was inside the larger purse.

The one directly below is actually mesh.

The one below actually had a small coin purse inside of it (shown in the first photo above).

Oops. I didn't get a close-up photo of one of the purses. Sorry. Below are a couple of lace pieces I bought. The first one had a tag that said it was over 100 years old. The workmanship on both of these are amazing and the patterns are quite unique.

I am a member of 'stitchen fingers' (link on my side bar) and have learned so much from the others on the web site. It is a very active group of people. If any of you are interested in stitchery of any kind, I highly recommend at least visiting to see what it is all about.

I also purchased this pin cushion. I just fell in love with it! It is stamped 'made in Hong Kong'.

It was loaded with pins and the top was removable to expose even more pins along with some buttons, keys etc.

Many of you probably know how much I enjoy bicycling. I was able to get this really sweet bicycle pin at the auction as well along with the amber necklace that had some unique beads incorporated into the design. I'm planning to use the bicycle brooch on a BOHO bag I'm working on and will take the necklace apart and use the beads for new designs.

I bought the sheet to the left below that had several small jewelry items, mostly earrings, that I am sure will either go to my granddaughters or be added to future CQ projects.

I didn't get accomplished what I had hoped to get done yesterday, but I had a great day with my mom at the auction!

Oh, my........you really scored! ALL those purses and laces for so little. Somehow I remember having a purse similar to the 4th larger photo that I used at Prom ~ a Loooooooooong time ago!

And the bike is precious. A BOHO purse? Connie you have peaked my interest! Can't wait to see what you are up to with that!

How nice to share a good day with Mom. Did she get anything?
