TAST - Basque Stitch & Palestrina

Completed my TAST Tag for this week.  It is the Basque Stitch which is a combination of the buttonhole (a/k/a blanket) stitch and the twisted chain.

I could just see this stitch down the front of a shirt or on a jacket lapel or pocket.

And of course we can't have a TAST week tag without a tree, so here is my tree.  I made it pretty small, but it would be easy to do a larger one with this stitch.

Where would you use a stitch like this?

Somehow I failed to post my Palestrina Tag and Tree from a couple of weeks ago on here, so images follow:

Connie, your basque variations look good, and I really like the top design. I can picture it stitched in vertical bands on a blouse or shirt, even a jacket, in different threads. (but all variegated! lol)
Your tiny tree is fab.
I stitched a different basque stitch, as you'll see when I post. well. hmmm

I think I have to agree with you, I think it would look awesome on a jacket lapel..like a black jacket with white stitches...very elegant!
